Plant Stand

Arts & Crafts Inspired Plant Stand

While cruising his page for bow saw ideas, I stumbled upon Paul Womack's reverse-engineered plans (scroll down) for an Arts & Crafts plant stand. Here is my version, out of black walnut. Mine has an ogee edge around the top, cut by hand with a wooden molding plane. The legs splay out in both directions, making for very tricky joinery. The mortises and tenons didn't come out completely correctly, but close enough to look good. The splats were cut out using a coping saw, then smoothed with files and sandpaper. I've since built a small coping bow-saw that makes this kind of sawing much easier. plant stand
